ROBUST DESIGN PROCESSES FOR QUALITY AND RELIABILITY
INK JET INK MANUFACTURING
UNDERSTANDING PIEZO TECHNOLOGY
SURFACE TENSION, WETTING & CAPILLARITY
Summary details of each course below, full details and registration at www.imieurope.com.

Ink jet technology is dominating the news at this year’s IPEX printing show. Before long it may be dominating the electronics and other industries too. So make sure you and your staff are up to speed.

Once again IMI Europe brings together five top courses for digital printing. Past Summer Schools have been a great success and we are again in London, making access from anywhere in Europe, or for that matter the world, very easy.

We have chosen a quiet part of central London just to the north of London’s West End that has lots to offer within walking distance. Understanding that budgets are tight in the current economic climate, our fees are lower than in 2008, and we have low-cost student accommodation available on-site - but you MUST book early!

THE INK JET ACADEMY
Theory of ink jet technology

University of Westminster Marylebone Campus, London, UK
28-29 June, 2010
A course describing the latest advances in ink jet and ink technologies, led by Mike Willis of Pivotal Resources and Dr Alan Hudd of Xennia Technology. In 11 years more than 2,000 have attended this broad and up to date introduction to this fast growing technology.

ROBUST DESIGN PROCESSES FOR QUALITY AND RELIABILITY
Design of experiments for industrial printer design

University of Westminster Marylebone Campus, London, UK
28-29 June, 2010
This course will help you apply the robust design process to the design and development of industrial ink jet printers. Dr John LaFleche has been teaching and practising this methodology for a number of years, with clients including Hewlett-Packard, Xerox and Lexmark.

INK JET INK MANUFACTURING
Manufacturing ink jet inks for performance and reliability

University of Westminster Marylebone Campus, London, UK
30 June-1 July, 2010
This course is designed for those wishing to develop, source or commission the development and manufacture of ink jet inks. It will help you understand the issues of development and testing, scale-up for manufacture and the manufacturing processes themselves.

UNDERSTANDING PIEZO TECHNOLOGY
Inside piezo drop on demand printheads

University of Westminster Marylebone Campus, London, UK
30 June-1 July, 2010
Rob Harvey and Mike Willis will take you through the basics of piezo materials and their properties, how they are used as actuators within printheads, other aspects of printhead design, printhead operation, crosstalk, reliability and lifetime issues, and the special considerations for deposition and ink jet as a manufacturing process.

SURFACE TENSION, WETTING & CAPILLARITY
Understanding interfacial phenomena and wetting

University of Westminster Marylebone Campus, London, UK
1-2 July, 2010
This course, led by world expert Professor Avi Marmur, is directly relevant to anyone working in the fields of ink jet ink formulation and development, substrate development - such as papers, films, coatings, metal and glass substrates - the development of ink jet deposition processes, and the design and development of ink jet printheads.

Location
The University of Westminster's Marylebone Campus is close to the junction of Marylebone Road and Baker Street, right opposite Baker Street Underground Station. This is just 3 stops from the Eurostar Rail Terminal at St. Pancras, and 2 stops from Paddington Station, terminal for the Heathrow Airport Express train. London's other airports - Luton, Stansted, Gatwick and City are also within easy reach by train and London Underground or bus services.

Close to the Campus is Marylebone Village, with its unique blend of boutiques, artisan patisseries, art galleries, delis and bookshops. Alternatively, a short walk can take you either to the open spaces of Regent’s Park, or to the bustling commercial areas of Oxford Street, Regent Street and Bond Street, one of the world’s most famous shopping districts.

Accommodation
We have reserved a limited number of rooms in Marylebone Hall on the Summer School Campus. The student rooms are within a tower block, some with breathtaking views over Central London and Regent's Park, and were recently refurbished. They have single beds, and ensuite facilities with shower. Arranged in groups of 6 rooms on each side of the tower, there is also a shared kitchen.

Please remember these are student rooms, not the Ritz, but quite adequate for a one or two night stay.

Of course you are welcome to stay elsewhere, and this link may help you in your search - remember we are at the Marylebone Campus! http://HotelMap.com/University_of_Westminster

Full course and accommodation details, a downloadable brochure, and on-line registration is now available at our web site www.imieurope.com.
